Claudio Simonetti's GOBLIN will live-score Dario Argento's 'PROFONDO ROSSO' at Beaches Brew 2016
The band will perform live alongside a screening of the movie on Friday, June 10, at Ravenna's Rocca Brancaleone

Simonetti, the composer of several notable Italian horror movie soundtracks, and his band Goblin will perform live alongside a screening of the legendary movie in the beautiful, fifteenth-century Brancaleone castle.

Goblin formed in the early 1970s, featuring Claudio Simonetti (keys) and Massimo Morante (guitar). They were inspired by progressive rock bands, such as Yes, King Crimson, Gentle Giants, and Emerson, Lake & Palmer. At the beginning of 1975, the band began a cooperation with Giorgio Gaslini on the 'Profondo Rosso' (or 'Deep Red' in English) film project, created by Italian horror mastermind Dario Argento.

By chance, after three or four days of recording, Gaslini left the film after a conflict with Argento, so Argento decided to try the band's hand at composing, giving them one night to write a score, and one day to record it. The commercial success of Profondo Rosso's soundtrack exceeded expectations: it sold nearly one million copies, and topped Italian charts for more than 50 weeks, kickstarting a long-lasting period of world popularity. The soundtrack has since become one of the best-selling horror movie soundtracks ever produced.

In 2013, following the 40th anniversary of 'Profondo Rosso,' Simonetti reincarnated Goblin (now known as Simonetti's Goblin) and began touring, playing complete scores live during screenings of the films Profondo Rosso, Suspiria and Dawn of the Dead.

Beaches Brew is a free festival that takes place along the shores of the Adriatic Sea in Marina di Ravenna, Italy. Beaches Brew 2016 takes place June 6-10. The sun, surf, and relaxed beach vibes at Hana-Bi create a one-of-a-kind live music experience for artists and festival-goers alike.

The partnership between Belmont Bookings and Bronson Produzioni was forged through several years of working together to book shows for EU touring bands. Beaches Brew Festival is our way of joining forces to create something truly magical, combining some of today’s most exciting acts with an idyllic seaside setting.
